Mumbai, May 30 -- Freida Pinto was all set to make her Bollywood debut with a gripping thriller, but now, we have learnt that Navdeep Singh's NH10 won't feature the international star. Buzz is that Sonam Kapoor has now replaced her in the movie.
Apparently, Freida walked out of the Phantom Film venture due to a "delay in the scripting process". An insider says, "Freida had agreed to do the film as she was impressed with the story. However, whenever she asked for a complete script, the makers promised to deliver it, but never did."
Since the film got delayed, Freida had no option but to opt out. "She couldn't have waited any longer as she is supposed to start her second schedule for the Christian Bale-starrer Knight Of Cups," adds the insider. She also has Richard Raymond's Desert Dancer in hand. Despite repeated attempts, Freida and her spokesperson remained unavailable for comments. Reportedly, the problems started after the film's financiers Eros pulled out.
At the same time, we have also learnt that Freida wasn't happy with the fact that Singh's two films -Basra (shelved) and Rock The Shaadi (incomplete) - haven't seen the light of day. "She has a lot of respect and love for Phantom, but due to multiple reasons, she had to leave the film," adds the insider.
Interestingly, Freida is now likely to be replaced by her Cannes Film Festival red carpet mate, Sonam Kapoor. It is believed that she has already given the makers the go-ahead. "I talk about only those films that I am either shooting for or promoting. I can't discuss other projects," says Sonam.
