The boss of benefit assessor Atos has landed a £280,000 pay rise, sparking fury among MPs. Chief executive and chairman Thierry Breton’s package of pay, bonuses and perks from the French firm is now £2,329,250. He saw his 2012 pay soar by £279,992 and for the same period in 2011 Mr Breton earned £2,049,250. Atos assesses disabled claimants. Labour MP Tom Greatrex said: “Many who have been through the indignity of the failing test will be sickened.” An Atos spokesperson said: "Atos is a global company employing 74,000 employees in 48 countries. "Our contract with the Department for Work and Pensions represents around 2% of our turnover."
