Abducted Schoolgirls Allegedly Married Off To Boko Haram Members For N2,000 29.04.2014, 12:56 Local

Over 200 students of the Government Girls College abducted by the Boko Haram sects on April 14, 2014 in Borno reported earlier today to have been ferried to neighbouring countries like Chad and Cameroonare said to be married off to the terrorists at the price of N2000.

This was made known by a leader of the Chibok Elders Forum, Dr. Pogu Bitrus who said:

"They ferried them in canoes to Cameroon and Chad republic after they were wedded off to Boko Haram members who bidded (sic) and paid N2,000 each as dowries on their heads."

"The dowry was paid to their captors, the very people who abducted them from their school. One of them who married one of the girls took her to a border town close to Cameroon where villagers saw her."

The Boko Haram members who have assumed "ownership" of the students were reported to have initially kept the girls at the Boko Haram camps in the notorious Sambisa Forest, then relocated them in trucks to other locations following the battle they had with the Military who had stormed the forest in search of the girls where over 40 insurgents were killed.
Bitrus who also said sources in Cameroon revealed most of the girls were now being held at "an area where the Boko Haram operates in Cameroon was in tears while speaking to Daily trust urged all Nigerians to join in the search of these missing girls.

He said: "If these captors are trying to achieve a political point, I think the best thing is for us to try to make sure that they don't succeed but from all indications they are succeeding due to inaction of government. It is helping these people in achieving their objectives."
Meanwhile the parents of the abducted girls who had expressed their fear that their children will be married out forcefully to their abductors have given President Jonathan an ultimatum to rescue the girls.

REVELATION: What I Told President Jonathan About Boko Haram-Guru Maharaj Ji 27.04.2014, 16:20 Local

The Spiritual Leader of One Love Family, Sat. Guru Maharaj Ji, has finally revealed what he told President Goodluck Jonathan when he was opportuned to meet the president some months ago.

According to an interview the respected cleric granted the Daily Independent and published on Saturday, the prophet popularly called Sat. Guru Maharaj Ji said he had told President Jonathan who Boko Haram sponsors were.

He added that if the president had listened to him when he visited Aso Rock two years ago, all the recent attack by the Boko Haram sect wouldn't have happened.

Sat. Guru Maharaj Ji named past leaders as part of those sponsoring the deadly sect and challenged the Northern leaders to come out and prove they have no hand in the insurgency going in some parts of the country.

He said: "I had told President Goodluck Jonathan those behind these nest of killers (Boko Haram) through several publications."

* Sat Guru Maharaji ji accused northern leaders for the spate of insurgency in the country

"I have asked the President to arrest them before now because they said after the 2011 general elections that because power did not return to the North, they would make the nation ungovernable.

"The spirit of the creator is against them. They are going to be dealt with. I will call them to order in the interest of innocent Nigerians, enough of the bloodletting. If President Jonathan had listened to the advice I gave him two years ago when I was at Aso Rock, all the killings by Boko Haram would have stopped. After my visit to the villa, the bombings stopped but because those in government did not continue to tap from my spiritual grace, the bombers returned.

"Nigeria belongs to all of us. As Living Perfect Master, I cannot be here and all these continue. I am challenging the Northern leaders to an open debate in a national television. Let them swear by the name of the Creator and all the seven elements of the earth that their actions were not the direct reflection of Boko Haram onslaught."

Primate Elijah Ayodele on the Future of Nigeria in 2015 20.04.2014, 10:03 Local

Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder of INRI Spiritual Evangelical Church, speaks about the future of Nigeria and what Nigerians should expect in 2015.

"A lot is still going to happen, and Nigerians still need to be praying ahead. If Nigerians can exercise patience, I see the economy booming. I see expatriates coming into this country because our economy would be one of the best in Africa come 2017. The government has not really addressed the issue of one nation as expected.

On insecurity

"If this government tries to have any kind of amnesty with Boko Haram, it would cause problems for this country. The government should not take it lightly with Boko Haram; they should fight the war against them. I see other nations supporting Nigeria in the long run. Boko Haram would still make the FG spend a lot of money. On the issue of Boko Haram, the CIA has misled the Nigerian government about it. As said by the Lord, America should be blamed, as directed by the Lord. These people are not spirits. I don't know whether the government is afraid to address things the way they are. They should address it from the roots.

"We said it earlier this year that Abuja must be very watchful because there is going to be an attack on Abuja. The government should work more on security so that Nigerians can be protected.

APC vs PDP

"What I am saying in essence is that APC will not make the presidency in 2015, though it will be very tough.

"I am saying again, PDP will make it in 2015. There is still going to be more negotiations. Honestly speaking, if the Vice-President does not sit up, his position would be used for negotiations. Most of the defected government if not all, two would come back to PDP. There would still be more defections. APC cannot fight PDP, as they don't have the mandate. APC did not ask from God before they came together so they cannot stand.

Thoughts on the missing Malaysian plane

"The missing Malaysian plane is riddled with politics. The people should put pressure on the Malaysian government. There is more to that missing plane than meets the eye. I would say it again, the government is involved. The government should be queried about the missing plane. It is not a crashed plane at the moment, but a missing plane.

Rivers State

"If Rivers State is not careful enough, PDP might take over the state. PDP would take over Akwa Ibom. Also, if care is not taken, PDP would take over Sokoto State. These are the states that God has revealed to me that PDP would take over.

"I see the flag of Nigeria changing. At the end of it all, there is still going to be another constitution review. I see that there is going to be something like a referendum. I see a confab where there would be an adoption of referendum. There would be elections in 2015 despite insinuations that there would be none.

Sports

"I see NFF having problems with Keshi. As a matter of fact, Keshi might not finish his tenure. Nigeria would not perform as expected at the World Cup. We should not expect much from Nigeria at the World Cup.

Education

"There is a lot that still needs to be done in the education sector. There would be so many changes especially in the UTME as it would be scrapped. Some universities hoping to get licences would be stopped. ASUU would still go on strike, doctors would still go on strike.

Economy

"Nigeria's economy will not be fantastic in 2014. The price of food items will go up. Some markets will be shut down in the Eastern part of the country and in the Southern part. Prices of garri, palm oil and flour will go up. Price of vegetable will go up. Jonathan's presidential economic team will fail him. Some ministers will be eased out while new ones will come in.

"The excess crude oil account will cause problems. I see that Nigeria will borrow money.

"I don't know when this will come up but Aba will be the China of Nigeria where Nigeria will produce vehicles, motorcycles and tricycles. Exotic guns will be made in Nigeria. I am not saying it will happen in 2014 but it is part of the things that we should be expecting in the nearest future.

Nigeria's unity:

"It may take 30 or 50 years, but Nigeria cannot stay together for another 100 years.

"The Minister of Finance would have crisis and if care is not taken, she might not finish her tenure. I see the GMD of NNPC having problems. The price of petrol would still go up. Price of flour would still increase. I see blessings for Nigeria in agriculture. Each state governor should still go and work on agriculture. EFCC would still expose a many politicians."

Boko Haram Leader Shekau Boasts: Abuja Bomb Attack is Just a "Tiny Incident" 20.04.2014, 14:53 Local

Boko Haram extremist sect leader Abubakar Shekau has described Monday's bomb attack in Abuja - which he claims responsibility for - as a 'tiny incident' which would soon be followed by more attacks.

A screengrab taken on April 19, 2014, from a video obtained by AFP. The leader of Nigeria's Boko Haram Islamists Abubakar Shekau claimed responsibility for a bombing in Nigeria's capital that killed at least 75 people, in a video message obtained by AFP on April 19. AFP PHOTO

The group released its new video to journalists in northeast Nigeria Saturday, hours after the AFP news agency published highlights of the clip.

In the video, Shekau admitted responsibility for the Nyanya bombing which officials say claimed more than 75 lives and injured over a hundred.

Witnesses and reporters, however, put the casualty figure far higher.

Shekau, who appeared in the video, as usual, clad in a military attire, with a long dark cap strapped with a dark turban, with an AK-47 rifle across his chest, spoke boastfully about the prowess of his group and how vulnerable the Nigerian nation is to him and his men.

He described the Nyanya blast as "tiny incident", which according to him does not merit the global condemnation that it has generated.

He said the attack was just the beginning of more attacks on the nation, adding that it was a general reprisal for all the killing Muslims across the country and the world suffer "in the hands of infidels".

Reading from a few pages of a white spiral-bounded papers held with his left hand, the deadly Boko Haram leader continued to point threateningly with a thick chewing stick held in his right hand.

Shekau heaped scorn, as usual, on President Jonathan whom he told in the video that his group have been within Abuja, yet they can never by found.

He spoke at top of his voice into the camera, laughing sarcastically.

"Let the world know that we were responsible for the bombing within Abuja in an area called Nyanya. [President]Jonathan, you are a lame duck. Jonathan, you are now too small for us. We can only deal with your grand masters like Obama the president of America. Even they cannot do anything to us. We are more than them," he said.

"Yes, we did it. We carried out the attack because you kill Muslims in Plateau. You kill Muslims in every country of the world. Why don't you global tyrants talk when Muslims are killed in Afghanistan? Why don't you talk when Muslims were killed in Iraq? And they are still being killed. Why don't you talk when Muslims are killed in the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria, and now Yemen, Mali, Azerbaijan, Shishan, Pakistan?" he asked.

"Why were you not complaining when our Muslim brethren were killed in Plateau, their wives were forcefully taken and raped, and if they give birth, their children were being killed? So because of that tiny incident that happened in Abuja, everybody is out there making an issue out of it across the globe.

"We want you, Jonathan, to know that we are worshipping only God that is why we are always victorious in all our attacks; stupid fellow like you; if you are that wise, why is it still very difficult for you to locate where we are up till date despite the fact that we are within Nigeria. Look at us we are right within your city; and you don't even know how to find us. Let me tell you now. I am here very close to you. I dare you to get me, if you can.

"You cannot do anything. Remember that this is the exactly the fifth year that you boasted that you were going to finish with us in just three months; so we are not bothered with any further boasting that you will make now because what you cannot accomplish in five years, is very difficult to achieve now, never!

"We will not stop until our aim is achieved; so everyone that calls himself a Muslim should stop obeying the constitution, should leave democracy, should stay away from western education.

"We are the bombers of Nyanya. Yes, we are the bombers. If you really want to know who did it, let me tell you now. It was Shekau that did it."

Chuckling and tapping his chest, he said, "This is me, Abubakar Shekau, whose turban you don't like seeing, whose armoured shirt you so much hate. This is my usual gun with which I kill. Get more annoyed, because I am still here. Yes, I am the Shekau that does not like Christians, and I don't like Muslims that relate with Christians.

"We have been commanded by Allah not to associate with infidels because they cannot be trusted until they accept your religion. So you cannot say you are a believer and then you go and follow democracy; we cannot allow you to ridicule the religion of God; never!

"I am not afraid of death; and I pray that God should let me be killed by an unbeliever so that I can gain His paradise. We don't love this sinful world of yours; we want to die and go to the presence of Him who created everyone so that we can enjoy ourselves.

"I don't care if you call me a liar, a mad man or a stupid person; all I know is that you all are ignorant".

"We are the ones that carried out the Abuja operation and every other recent attacks. Today whereever you are, if you don't follow the way of Allah, these calamity will befall you. Jonathan if you don't repent and follow the path of God, you will find yourself alone before your creator.

"Yes, I am the dreaded Shekau: the one even Obama fears; not even Obama, even if Pharaoh were alive today he would reckon with me [laughs]. To hell with the United Nations, to hell with Ban Ki Moon; to hell with Obama. Yes we did the bombing in Nyanya, we did it."

The girl(names witheld) who was pregnant at the age of 11 while still in primary school gave birth to a baby girl last weekend at 12 years and three months.

The new mom who has a three-year-old sister and a nine-year-old brother is five months younger than the UK's previous youngest mother, Tressa Middleton.

The young couple from North London who met in 2012 when she was ten and he was 12 are now in high school are reported to be 'completely in love' as they've been dating for a year.

They have the lowest combined age of any British parents on record.

Meanwhile, the girl's 27-year-old mother who was a teenage mother herself, is now one of Britain's youngest grandmothers.

The girl's father who has shown his daughter support told LBC Radio: 'We only found out she was pregnant a month ago. That means she was eight months pregnant. The baby is going to come into the world no matter what.

'You can just be supportive about it. The families on both sides are going to be very supportive about it. It is heartbreaking, but you can't turn back time. You can only go forwards.

'We don't know where it happened. What you're implying is that we knew they were having intercourse in bedrooms. No. We cannot keep her wrapped up her whole life.

'I can't keep a watch on her 24-hours a day, seven days a week. You don't know what has gone on and once the mistake has been made, you just have to support them.'

Boko Haram Slaughter Borno Monarch, 19 Others In Fresh Attacks 16.04.2014, 15:13 Local

Gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists, attacked two villages in different parts of Borno state on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and killed about 20 people including a monarch, according tosecurity sources and witnesses.

The first attack happened on Wednesday morning at about 7 a.m. when the gunmen stormed Wala Village, 130 km southwest of Maiduguri, the Borno capital, killing 18 villagers and injuring several others.

Anonymously a local government official and a senior officer of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) confirmed that about 18 people were killed in Wala this morning by the Boko Haram gunmen.

The DSS officer also confirmed that some 12 hours earlier, another set of gunmen attacked Sabon-Kasuawa Village in Hawul Local Government Area, 210km south of Maiduguri, where they killed a local monarch (district head) and his guard.

On phone conversation, a politician from Hawul Local Government, Hyeldi Bwala, confirmed that the gunmen attacked the monarch shortly after he returned home from the mosque where he went to observe the Tuesday night prayers at about 7:30 p.m.

According to Mr. Bwala, the gunmen walked right into the palace of the monarch and shot him in his bedroom. On their way out they also shot traditional ruler's guard.

Last week the top monarch of Gwoza, Idrissa Timta (who is addressed as Emir of Gwoza) had made a save our-soul plea to the Nigerian government and security agencies to come to the aid of Gwoza residents whom he said suffer too frequent attacks.

Gwoza is the one of the mountainous countryside of Borno State that shares borders with Cameroon in its south and Sambissa in its north. Gwoza's rocky mountains have served as a hideout for Boko Haram terrorists.

The Borno attacks have continued despite an emergency rule imposed on the state, as well as Adamawa and Yobe, since May last year.

Breaking News: Local Hunters, Soldiers Rescue Over 80 Girls Kidnapped In Borno 16.04.2014, 13:35 Local

Over 80 students of the Government Girls' Secondary School in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State who were abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram sect have been reportedly rescued.

According to report, the girls who were kidnapped during a raid by the insurgents on Monday night, April 14, 2014, were rescued on Tuesday and Wednesday morning by a group of vigilante, local hunters and soldiers.

As fate would have it, after kidnapping the girls and putting them in tipper lorries, they got stuck in the bush while they were trying to crossover some muddy area between Chibok and Askira/Uba.

Some of the girls were said to have jumped out of the lorry and ran for their lives.

Speaking on the incident, one of the rescued girl's father, Malam Ali Iliya said, his daughter told him that when they got stuck, the insurgents allowed those who jumped out escape and they did not shoot at them, adding that those who could not run either as a result of fear or wound are still with them in the bush.

The girls who escaped were found scattered in the bush by vigilante and local hunters.

Malm Ali said, "Some of them were wounded, some were with fracture, which I believe was as a result of jumping from the high vehicle, but we are happy that our children have been rescued.

"Now we are praying for those who are still with the Boko Haram; our prayer is that every father will have his child back."

According to his daughter, the abductors were over a hundred in number and the abducted girls were 243 as they were asked to count themselves.

He added that his daughter Hajara was sound and healthy but weak.

Meanwhile, the governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima today promised to give N50 million to any individual or group that would volunteer credible information on the whereabouts of the abducted girls.
